I will always love sketching with pen and watercolor. I like the look of black line with colorful washes on the page. Last June, however, I took a different approach and dropped the pen for a month going it alone with watercolor. I made lots of messes at first then turned to the inter webs for tips and tutorials. This landscape was a break through moment in learning when to stop. To leave it. To walk away. And also in patience. I'd forgotten that until I flipped my calendar to June. Maybe it's time for another thirty days of watercolor sans pen.
